Job Purpose

The Content Management Team and specifically the Data Researcher is primarily focused on global fixed income data procurement for various data operations teams supporting the fixed income reference data business. The team is currently expanding its remit to procure reference data for equities and funds related content. This role is pivotal to the data maintenance process and supports a variety of market trusted products and services. Many of our team members are multilingual.

 

Reporting to the Manager, Data Content, the Data Researcher will communicate with various fixed income market participants in order to procure fixed income terms and conditions data for securities issued across the globe and for content associated with both the primary and secondary markets. The role involves establishing new and managing existing relationships with market participants in order to procure fixed income reference data. The incumbent will be responsible for handling a variety of data inquiries in order to procure data in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.

Responsibilities
  • Establish frequent outreach to Issuers, Underwriters, Trust Administrators, and other agents to procure fixed income terms and conditions and resolve inquiries
  • Manage multiple and complex data inquiries and resolve in a timely manner
  • Liaise with internal and external relationships and collaborate in a global team environment to identify data related issues and process improvements
  • Serve as subject matter expert in covered areas within fixed income
  • Perform root-cause analysis to better understand data sourcing and client inquiries
  • Record and regularly maintain contacts/outreach activities in central database
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency to meet client needs
  • Stay abreast of financial market trends and changes and share with the global team
  • Coordinate and work closely with the senior members of the team

Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor’s/College degree with 3+ years of relevant working experience in Content, Client Support, or Sales/Relationship Management
  • Basic understanding of the financial markets, particularly the global fixed income primary and secondary markets. Strong understanding is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to influence others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Advanced research skills (especially searching online creatively)
  • Solid understanding of the equity and or fund markets are a plus
  • Basic-level MS Office, intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills preferred
