 ICE Data Services -Job Title: Director, Americas Oil Market Development (Manhattan) ​                                                                        

 

Job Purpose

As ICE continues to grow and evolve its oil product offering and position our benchmarks to continue to meet the needs of our customers, this role will be responsible for leading the fundamental market research effort to support the development of new oil contracts in the Americas and representing ICE at oil conferences and forums on fundamentals of oil markets in the Americas. This role will work closely with the Americas commercial business development team and our customers to ensure that our contracts are meeting their hedging, trading and investment needs.

 

Responsibilities

• Work with the Global Head of Oil at ICE to develop research and analytical support for the commercial business development team.

• Support the commercial oil business development team in the US with research and technical support for creating new futures, options and physical oil contracts.

• Work with legal and regulatory staff in the US to maintain robust reporting and documentation of our oil product set.

• Research and report on changes in oil market fundamentals, market structure and customer hedging needs.

• Participate in industry conferences and fundamental oil forums and report/ collaborate with to commercial team leaders to develop strategies for product development.

• Support the exchange and clearing house staff by providing fundamental context to pricing changes, inter-commodity correlations, physical delivery practices in different regions etc.

• Work with Index providers to position our contracts for inclusion.

• Work closely with Price Reporting Agencies to stay abreast of changes to market assessments and spec changes.

• Lead input/analysis/ support on regulatory policy and implementation for the oil product list.


Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or other advanced degrees a plus.

• At least 10 years of experience in petroleum trading, analytics or risk management.

• Must have complete understanding of physical oil markets and market practices for hedging and trading related derivatives markets.

• Fundamental knowledge of petroleum trading, price reporting and derivatives market landscape.

• Must have very strong presentation skills for presenting complex material to large audiences.

• Strong understanding of the trade cycle, including the role of clearing in listed as well as OTC markets.

• Must be a strong team player.
