The Director, Head of China Capital Markets, manages the strategy, for Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Chinese prospects considering a listing in the U.S.  In this critical and highly competitive role, the ideal candidate will work cross-functionally throughout the internal organization, while building C-level relationships with issuers, banks, venture capital firms, private equity companies, and industry associations.  The successful candidate will help raise the profile of the multinational financial services in China, articulating our unique value proposition to a variety of internal and external stakeholders, resulting in increased market share among high quality companies seeking to tap the U.S. capital markets. 

This role will report to the Head of International Capital Markets.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with the multinational financial services leadership team to analyze and quantify listings (IPO) opportunities in China and devise strategies for generating awareness and a pipeline for the multinational financial services company
  • Meticulous management and communication of IPO opportunities at all stages.  Development and tracking of appropriate metrics to be used to develop and communicate objectives and progress.
  • Coordinate with deal parties including lawyers, bankers and other professionals involved in deal process to ensure smooth and successful transaction.
  • Engage with C-level executives at issuing companies, communicating the multinational financial services company value proposition and anticipating issues. 
  • Through relationship building and discussion, work with issuers and internal teams to create an optimized proposal for launch day and as a public company.  Facilitate a smooth onboarding and transition to multinational financial services company's relationship management staff.
  • Interact with local government as the representative from the multinational financial services company in China
  • Host senior executives and other leaders for network building events, at the multinational financial services  company as well as strategic locales globally.
  • Manage the multinational financial services company office in Beijing
  • Ability to understand, align and integrate the culture of the region with the multinational financial services company culture
  • Provide support, training, and mentorship to junior members of the team.

Knowledge and Experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in finance (investment banking, venture capital), consulting, or high-level sales
  • Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree and/or industry certification preferred
  • Strong relationships with C-level executives of potential candidates for an initial public offering in U.S. listing.
  • Clear understanding of the IPO pipeline and key intermediaries covering China
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Capable to work within strict deadlines in a time critical environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent presentation skills
  • Proactive, proven leader and team player
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office and with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
