Execution Strategist
Job Purpose
The Execution Strategist will be responsible for enabling and unlocking success for NYSE Group members and other market participants, such as buy side investors. This will be done through formulating and executing data-driven analysis of NYSE’s US Equities and Options businesses. The role will also be responsible for driving product development and sales initiatives through research. The scope of analysis can range from investigating specific events in the market, to helping trading participants better understand their use of NYSE offerings, to evaluating exchange models and rulesets. The position will report to the Head Research and will interact regularly with both management and market participants to extend NYSE’s leadership position with transactions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze usage of NYSE’s US equities and options markets, including client behavior, order type usage, system functionality, order interaction and execution quality
- Engage with NYSE Group members and other market participants to create value
- Serve as an advocate for NYSE Group member other market participants with product and technical teams
- Maintain and expand NYSE’s execution consulting capabilities, including client activity reporting and ad hoc analysis of specific use cases
- Serve as key point person for data-driven sales efforts to both sell-side and buy-side market participants
- Support business development efforts through scenario analysis and modeling
- Support the creation and development of sales and marketing collateral
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- 2+ years of experience in electronic trading, exchange operations or other capital markets firm
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or other common languages used for data analysis
- Proficiency in US equity market structure
- Fundamental understanding of strategy and consumer insights
- Up-to-date knowledge of our exchange and alternative trading system (ATS) competition in US equities and options
- Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Ability to solve real world business problems using quantitative and computational techniques
