Lead Engineer, Cloud Engineering
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in software engineering discipline
- Extensive experience with primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53, CloudWatch and S3, Lambda, Fargate)
- Strong track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
- Demonstrable knowledge of multi-tiered, highly available, and resilient application design
- Experience implementing highly-available and fault-tolerant enterprise software deployments at scale by leveraging industry standard tools, such as: git, jenkins, terraform, cdk or equivalent
- Practical experience with 4+ years in a relevant role as a Systems Engineer, SRE, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent
- Infrastructure automation through coding and/or scripting: Python (preferred), Bash, Perl, Java, Ruby, Powershell, Go
- Configuration management using CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, or similar
- Strong practical Linux and Windows-based system administration skills in a cloud or virtualized environment
- Experience managing production operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting and notifications
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
- Experience with authentication/authorization Oauth, SAML, SSO, OpenID, IAM, 2FA, Active Directory and ADFS
- Integration of cloud services with on premise technologies from Microsoft, Oracle, SAP etc.
Preferred:
- Exposure to and familiarity with Kafka, Cloudera, Hadoop, or similar
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies
- Experience with compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, SOX, etc.)
