Job Purpose

The Market Operations Associate will assist the ICE NGX Market Operations and ICE NGX Settlements teams, both in Canada and United States with the data entry and verification of physical natural gas trades and adjustments at all North American natural gas locations.  This role will also assist with monthly verification of physical gas and other invoices, client onboarding, new product launches and other support duties as required.  The Market Operations Analyst will report to the Senior Manager of Canadian Operations at ICE NGX.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the data entry and verification of physical trade adjustments and curtailments for all natural gas locations supported at ICE NGX
  • Verify all pipeline monthly invoices against delivery reports to ensure accuracy
  • Work with settlement and finance teams to provide verification of fees charged on physical delivery flows
  • Assist with invoicing and payment of facility invoices
  • Help coordinate the launch of new natural gas locations within the ICE NGX Clearinghouse
  • Facilitate the setup and activation of all new counterparties and trading locations
  • Assist with the tracking of physical backstopping at all natural gas locations
  • Contribute to the development and tracking of key statistical information
  • Provide weekend coverage to support the ICE NGX operations teams
  • Perform some office management duties, as required
Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 1-2  years of experience in gas scheduling or gas accounting is preferred
  • Need strong organizational skills and ability to operate in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and act independently as required
  • May require some infrequent travel
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel and MS Word
