Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to assist the Head of Membership and contribute proactively to the running of the Membership Department, working closely with the Membership and Contracts Coordinator and Head of Membership. The jobholder will be involved in a wide variety of Exchange and Clearing House matters with varied level of analytical complexity. Issues might be of an administrative nature, but conversely might be of a very detailed nature requiring considered assistance and an ability to put specific matters within the overall context of the Exchange as an RIE and a subsidiary of a NYSE listed company.

Responsibilities
  • The jobholder will be concerned with a wide variety of tasks and activities relating to Membership matters including: system set ups through liaison with a team in Atlanta and ICE Clear Europe Operations; registering and issuing of mnemonics and Responsible Individual applications; liaising with Members, account managers and Exchange/Group Technology Departments
  • Managing the membership RI database
  • Managing/updating and maintaining the relevant membership system
  • Following an approval process in relation to Circulars (notices to members) and using an external system to issue the circulars to the market
  • First line review and processing of Application Forms
  • Assisting other members of the department in preparation for various approval Committee Meetings
  • Member set ups and query resolution
  • Internal Database Management and applications reviews
  • Preparation of papers for various committee meetings

Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in a trading environment
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office,  including Excel and Microsoft Access
  • Experience of effectively working and managing relationships with a range of people at differing levels within an organisation and maintaining a professional approach at all times
  • Ability to adapt to use of a variety of internal systems and databases
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective customer-relationship skills within a regulated environment
  • Ability to work towards tight and specific deadlines, occasionally under pressure and ability to make quick decisions
  • Ability to manage effective liaison with colleagues/Members outside of UK time zone
  • The ability to work on own initiative and adapt to the team’s needs
