Job Purpose

Responsible for Pre-sales activities supporting all sales efforts of the ICE Global Network & Colocation Services with new and existing clients.  The SE will partner closely with Sales Directors in pursuit of business opportunities and provide technical expertise to close new sales opportunities and protect existing revenue.  Under special circumstances, the SE may also need to perform Sales Director responsibilities as we focus on customer needs and pursue a ‘team-first’ mentality.

Responsibilities
  • Understand, process and translate the client's problems, requirements and reason for buying. 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with the client’s technical representative to ensure clear and consistent communication of the requirements and proposed offering.
  • Educate prospective client on industry norms and best practices
  • The SE will possess a deep technical understanding of the Global Connectivity product portfolio and is responsible for effectively positioning the products and services to meet client requirements and solving complex business problems.       
  • Ensure proposed solutions are technically viable, meet customer requirements and provide maximum benefit to our business. Deliver and own Engineering documentation for customers and as needed during sales scope review process.
  • Learn and develop further knowledge of infrastructure technologies and key selling points of the business products.  Continually enhance expertise in SFTI & Colocation Services, financial technologies, market structure and capital markets trends.
  • The SE is responsible for solution design, architectural diagrams, RFP responses, proposal development, technical presentations, as well as ensuring proposed services can be delivered and supported by ICE’s operations teams.
  • Build strong relationships internally with sales, relationship managers, product and support groups with a ‘team-first’ mentality.  Prepare implementation plans and transition product/service/solution to appropriate delivery teams.
  • Post sale assistance to ensure the eventual realization of the benefits articulated during the sales cycle. Validate and provide feedback on new pricing and turn-up procedures for new products.  The SE will assist stakeholders to improve the Client experience, ensure ongoing satisfaction, and drive profitable sales. Provide Internal Product Teams recommendations of product enhancements and suggestions on ways to improve the field deployment process

Knowledge and Experience
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin 
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of work is essential, diligence
  • Confident and professional communicator, both written and in front of audience
  • Logical and methodical at trouble-shooting
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure, while maintaining high quality output and meeting deadlines
  • Several years’ experience in the Market Data and/or Electronic Trading domain in a Pre-Sales, Support, Product or TAM capacity, having had significant exposure to associated technology, terminology, vendors, trading venues, market forces, regulation
  • Excellent understanding of financial markets and related terminology
  • Content specialist across various asset classes covering real-time data as well a reference data
  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Understanding of networking and associated protocols
  • UNIX or similar command-line experience (desirable)
  • Programming experience at some level in Java, C# or C++ (desirable)
