Product Platform Specialist

Job Purpose

The Product Platform Specialist will work with the Pricing & Analytics Product Management Team and appropriate Product Platform Owner, being responsible for the implementation and support of Strategic Initiatives related to the Pricing & Analytics (P&A) One Product delivery platforms (APEX/IDS). 


  • Establish an in-depth understanding of the product functionality and content offerings across PRD product platform offerings.
  • Responsible for product requirements, analysis, testing and management of a variety of projects related to new content, enhanced functionality and infrastructure improvements.
  • Coordinate with content product management teams on the product delivery requirements (API, file based, online) for new content and enhanced functionality.
  • Ensure that all enhancements are fully functional and meet all ‘go to market’ requirements such as billing, delivery support and training, documentation and entitlement functionality.
  • Coordinate with Product, Client Service, Technology, and Operations on process and implementation of all testing and product rollouts.
  • Assist in managing the effects and impacts of requested changes to established projects, systems and applications, as well as the identification and communication of project risks.
  • Assist in evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details
  • Work with the broader product management teams and development team to produce scalable enhancements that can be used across the client base.
  • Analyze and document product offerings that could be streamlined into newer product platforms for production reliability and infrastructure improvements.
  • Assist in creating functional specifications targeting internal IT teams and other stake holders (Development, QA, Operations, Communications, etc.).
  • Detailed understanding of the billing/pricing process, working with Finance, Development and Product Management colleagues on analysis to better align product delivery billing capabilities, whilst providing a high level of support for product billing processes.

Knowledge and Experience

  • High degree of understanding in regard to fixed income and equity markets including understanding their general structure and trading mechanics.
  • Bachelor’s Degree as well as working experience in fixed income and equities.
  • This role requires great communication skills and must communicate clearly, respectfully and effectively with many different types of people and departments across the firm.
  • Advanced user of Excel and database technologies including pivot tables, vb/sql query writing
  • Advanced user of Tableau reporting and expert at manipulating and analyzing large data sets including Business Intelligence analytics skill sets
  • Working knowledge of financial data warehouses and datasets
  • Determines and addresses root causes rather than just treating symptoms
  • Strong understanding of the sales and product development process
  • Experience working with clients and stakeholders in a prescriptive manner at all levels of management.
