Job Purpose


The Quantitative Research Lead will be critical in shaping and driving exchange trading product evolution and overall growth for NYSE.  This will be done through the creation and execution of quantitative research, mainly focusing on the business lines for NYSE - equity and options trading, listing and data.  Further, the role will investigate key market trends and developments aimed at creating efficiency in our businesses.  The position will report to the Head of Research and will interact regularly with leadership for both NYSE and the Intercontinental Exchange.



  • Develop and lead the quantitative research plan, targeted at NYSE’s trading, listings and data business
  • Inventory and maintain required data sources, both internal and external, to conduct research
  • Provide support in determining product enhancements, through research, that will enable NYSE Group members to achieve desired outcomes
  • Apply advanced quantitative research methods to analyze internal initiatives, market developments and regulatory proposals
  • Engage and interact with internal and external stakeholders to ensure research efforts align with relevant focus areas and deliver value


Knowledge and Experience

  • Advanced degree in Quantitative Finance or similar
  • 1+ years of experience working on or leading a team of quantitative researchers or data scientists
  • An understanding of US equity market structure is critical; knowledge of adjacent asset classes and geographies, particularly US equity options, is preferred
  • Strong general programming skills
  • Knowledge of exchange order books and experience working with order book data feeds
  • Flexibility in managing the timelines of internal and external deliverables that may impact your work
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven track record of managing competing priorities and various stakeholders
  • Collaborative nature with strong intellectual curiosity
  • Strong communication skills, ability to interface with a multitude of different internal resources
