Job Purpose

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) presents a unique opportunity for a full-time Market Data Technology Specialist in the Market Data Compliance group, which is responsible for content oversight and protecting the firm’s real-time equities market data intellectual property.  This role will be executing market data technical reviews for our diverse customer base, and evaluating market data usage compliance within the customer’s organization.  The candidate must have background and experience in market data trading technology, and understand data usage and flow within market data software, including desktops, APIs, and blackbox applications.


  • Conduct market data technical reviews to ensure customer’s compliance with NYSE’s market data contracts and policies, minimize revenue leakage and optimize revenue recovery.
  • Analyze customers’ applications and systems related to market data consumption, design, and dissemination. Document market data flow processes, investigate and analyze entitlement permissioning systems to ensure complete overview of a firm’s market data consumption.
  • Effectively plan and research the customer firm by reviewing the available account information, relevant policies and procedures.
  • Perform kickoff and walkthrough meetings with customers. Communicate with customers and articulate expected collaboration, materials required, and to manage both expectations and timeframes efficiently.
  • Provide an analysis of findings and any financial liability found.
  • Work with and develop relationships with team members, internal stakeholders, and external customers to promote and support compliance with policies and ensure effective business review processes with minimum disruption to customers.
  • Participate in management initiatives, lead special projects and system development initiatives.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 7+ years of market data trading systems or market data compliance background.  Understanding of market data usage and technology such as APIs and desktops, and data flow from vendor delivery to user/application consumption.
  • Proven background in analyzing, designing and implementing processes and policies to improve efficiencies and achieve desired objectives with a strong bias towards continuous improvement.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel including the use of financial formulas, data analysis and pivot table features.
  • Experience in negotiations and settling issues.
  • Development and maintenance of good customer relationships
  • Knowledge of data consumer and data vendor firms, including (but not limited to) major and niche information vendors, investment banks, online trading platforms, high frequency and proprietary trading firms.
  • Knowledge of vendor products (3000Xtra, Bloomberg Anywhere, Server API, etc.) and market data systems management/permissioning systems (DACS, EMRS, MDM, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, Accounting or related fields
