Job Purpose


The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure compliance with ICE Clear Europe’s regulatory reporting obligations and routine data reporting obligations, for example CFTC Part 39 and EMIR transaction reporting. The initial focus will be on the management and maintenance of various spreadsheets which produce regulatory reports and this aspect is defined further below.  In time the responsibilities will extend to production of business requirements and sign off of functional specifications to automate the production of these reports. 


The ICE Clear Europe regulatory reports are dominantly produced in spreadsheet format within the risk domain as this data has not yet been migrated into the production environment.  This role involves gaining an in depth understanding of a range of complex spreadsheets and then the regular running of these to produce reports.  As business change occurs each spreadsheet will need updating to ensure that all data remains current, comprehensive and accurate.  The role then involves enhancement of the report processing which may necessitate specifying and managing change internally or in developing interim reports as a step towards full automation.  The role will further involve supporting the production of the reports and following up on any issue as well as periodic re-validation of the reports to ensure that they continue to be accurate and exhaustive.


To undertake a technical analyst role within the Regulatory Reporting department, participating in the reports connected with clearing: from spreadsheet management, requirement definition, test strategy production through to detailed system testing including full integration testing.


  • Enhance quality and efficiency of regulatory reporting, in particular the risk spreadsheet management and maintenance.
  • Ability to analyse very complex and high volumes of data.  Take on the ownership of risk focused regulatory reports and produce quality reports to an agreed timetable.
  • Enhance spreadsheets as business needs dictate and develop skills over time to develop reports as and when necessary as an interim measure to reports being fully productionised. 
  • Ensure that other stakeholders in the process such as regulatory report team members have appropriate and sufficient information.
  • Business requirement definition, spreadsheet documentation, test design, planning and execution are key aspects of the role.  However, due to the compact size of the team, there is also the need to, over time, perform functional requirement analysis on occasion.
  • Technical assistance and advice to development team either in regard to new report production, changes to specifications or to assist in resolving issues in reports.
  • Ability to integrate knowledge and reports into the production facing areas is essential so that reporting quality can be sustained.

Knowledge and Experience

The areas involved are numerous and complex.  Regulatory Reporting require an understanding of transaction flow through various clearing states such as risk management, treasury management etc.  

A high level of analytical complexity is involved as data is extensive together with an ability to absorb and apply knowledge as some business areas are complex.    



  • Experience with Database interrogations, SQL, VB queries, FIXml analysis and problem solving 
  • Higher level education
  • Some experience in futures and options trading or clearing environment
  • A logical and analytical approach; high level of numeracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fast learner, who is keen to develop knowledge and skills


  • Knowledge of derivatives products and related markets
  • Prior exposure to Regulatory Reporting
  • Relevant degree qualification
  • Hands on experience working with the CCPs clearing data feeds, interfaces and workflows, i.e., IM, VM, Cashflows, Fee and Reference data
