Job Purpose

As a Test Support Automation Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for the quality of trading technologies.  This is a highly demanding role for an individual with a commodities trading background in a well-established quality assurance environment.  To be successful, you must be results-oriented, self-motivated and have the ability to thrive in a fast-pace environment.  This role requires frequent interaction with helpdesk analysts, developers, third-party application vendors, product managers and sales professionals in order to ensure that we deliver a quality-trading platform to our users.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Work with existing test automation team members to facilitate execution, debugging and development of a large set of existing automated manual testcases for a complex financial domain application
  • Provide production support to Helpdesk, Sales, Market Administration and third-party trading application vendors
  • Create and execute test cases
  • Track and resolve defects
  • Write test plans and summaries
  • Work with internal groups to identify and resolve any issues identified during testing

 

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with all Windows OS, networking, Client/Server and web-based applications
  • 3+ years of experience in the UFT tool
  • 3+ years of experience with object-oriented programming (Core Java or similar object oriented language)
  • 1+ years of experience creating and maintaining Pipelines via Groovy DSL
  • In depth knowledge of SQL
  • Extensive knowledge of testing process, testing methodology analysis and defect reporting tools
  • Ability to work independently and productively under pressure
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and decision-making ability
  • Experience in testing Java Swing and browser-based UI applications is preferred
  • Understanding of Webservice standards (SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML, JSON) is preferred
  • Experience working in financial services (commodity markets, financial trading environment, equity brokerage business, futures markets) is preferred
